Detailed Summary
The MF87 services features a compact form factor, superior GPS performance, backup battery, and a 3-axis accelerometer. These features enable the MF87 to access vehicle diagnostic interface data, track vehicle speed and location, plus detect hard braking, acceleration and capture pre and post-impact data. Superior internal antennas for both cellular and GPS eliminate the need for professional installation and make the MF87 install – quick, easy and inexpensive.
The MF87 is designed to dramatically reduce cost and size while significantly improving field reliability and can provide FMCSA-certified ELD services, connecting to both J1939 and J1708 vehicles.
OBD2 Vehicle Compliance
1995 and older vehicles: Not compatible
1996-2008: Limited OBD2 parameter support
2009+: All cars sold in US are required to use the ISO 15765-4 standard, enabling greater parameter support

J1939 CAN Secondary support*
All lightweight vehicles transmit data in regular CAN pins (first). Almost all heavy trucks that runs on J1939 protocol transmits data in regular CAN (standard J1939 pins) but there are some J1939 vehicles that transmits J1939 CAN data in different pins (secondary CAN) other than the standard pins. So to include those vehicles, we have included CAN pins in 96 series device. Secondary CAN is same as regular CAN but just communicates in different pins other than the ones used by regular CAN.
