The N/A means that it stopped or registered the 0mph speed only once, so 1 message of 0mph = Duration: N/A If it stopped for 2 messages then, Duration: 30 seconds. 3 messages, Duration: 1 minute and so on.

No, a "stop" always starts as the first 0mph message. Using the Units > Trip Detection, you can change what starts a "Parking", but not what starts a "stop"
A stop is one or more consecutive messages with a zero speed. Stops can be registered at lights, intersections, in traffic jams, etc. Several messages in succession are joined into one stop.
