Wiring Instructions
1. Connect white + blue cable from device to white cable from temperature sensor probe.
2. Connect black cable from device to blue and black cables from the temperature probe.
Additional Wiring
From the 5C260/5C360 wiring harness (or directly from the MF2830), Power (red) and Ground (black) will be installed to vehicle power (12V). Ground and ignition sense wire (white) shall be installed into the ignition system or similar such that when the vehicle ignition is ON, voltage is supplied to the white wire and when ignition is OFF, voltage is removed from the white wire. A single temperature probe (or multiple probes) can be connected to same location utilizing the black wire (Fig.3). Below are tables detailing the connection schemes. Utilize 1-Bit Bus Ground and 1-Bit Bus Data of 5C260/5C360/MF2830.
*Note: If using MF2830 device, temperature probe connects directly to device. You will not need any additional wiring harnesses to connect to probe or vehicle.
One Sensor Install
For the Single sensor applications the Blue wire must be attached to ground in order for the sensor to operate properly.
Multi-Sensor Install
Sensor 1 of the chain must be wired as follows.
The Temperature Sensors in the middle of the chain between the first and last sensor.
The Temperature Sensor at the end of the chain is configured as follows:
